Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God: Hebrews 12:2.
I had always known that the only person that can fix, remove and amend things is God. I watched a particular movie some days ago where a marriage counsellor could not fix the problem in his home. He claimed to have counselled thousands of couples on how their marriages could best work, but he could not vouch for a good marriage. His life was full of trouble, but he appeared to be enjoying it. Why? I know some people are asking this question too by now. That was the question that came to my mind, too, when I saw the scenes. It was later that I discovered that the counsellor of marriage in himself did not know the One who instituted marriage (God). I can’t imagine a person claiming to be a lecturer in a particular university and not knowing the VC of the school or not being able to tell us anything about the founder of the school. This would be unbelievable to people like us. That was how I felt as I carefully watched the scenes with divine understanding.
Many marriages are not working and will continue not to work if couples continue to go to the wrong people for counsel or don’t know how to look directly to God’s side but go from one counsellor to another. PLEASE DON’T MISQUOTE ME! I am not saying some marriage counsellors are not real; in fact, some marriages would have collapsed if not for the help of God they received from a godly counsellor, but what I am insinuating is that if you and your husband can both agree and seek the face of God for His HELP together concerning your weakness and differences, you will know that you are far better than so many marriage counsellors out there. All you need is JESUS! Look unto Him in prayer and fasting, and He shall teach you the way out of your predicament.
Hmmm, someone is saying, you don’t know my husband; only if you knew him, you would know that praying and fasting with him will always be a no-no. Well, I might not know him, but someone does; the one who created him knows his state, so why don’t you continue to lift his heart to God until you see your desires accomplished in him and because of the victory that awaits you at the end of the tunnel, again I will say you should not because of the reproach you are seeing now stop from achieving this goal for God: Hebrews 12:2b.
That marriage can still work; the couple I was talking about figured it out with the help of God after several quarrels and an attempt at divorce. They both found their place in Christ and took the message of salvation to the counselor who later gave his life to Jesus, who could give him the wisdom required to counsel people in the right way. You and your husband can still be an instrument the Lord will use to save many marriages.
DON’T GIVE UP ON HIM.
LOOK UP TO JESUS, WHO CAN FIX HIM FOR YOU, AND THERE SHALL BE GREAT TESTIMONIES!
Peace!
