Ladies, let’s talk about love! How do you define love? Love can be in two ways, You can love someone by giving or by receiving. The kind of love the Lord has towards us is by giving. The Bible says, “for God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” So before you start saying he loves you, ask yourself what he has added or is adding to your life. A guy who only offers you sex, and other ungodly things that you must not do outside marriage, is not giving you anything but taking from your future happiness. So, the best way to practice love by giving is to offer him something that will make him a better person like God did for us. Like helping him to grow spiritually, emotionally, and mentally.
Love by receiving: We receive love when there is a willingness in our hearts to do so; no one can force his love on us. The Bible makes us understand that though God has given us his begotten son, eternal life belongs to whosoever cares to receive Him; there is absolutely no force in it, so you must not receive love from the guy God has not given you the go-ahead about. As a lady, you must know the kind of love you’ll receive; it is not every brother who comes your way you will allow into your life.
In conclusion, before you think about giving or receiving love, sit down and meditate on what the agreement between you, the giver, and he, the receiver, will bring. When God gave us His son, it wasn’t just for giving sake; it was so the gap between God and man could be bridged and filled. Jesus is the ladder between God and mankind. Why are you giving love to that man? Why are you receiving it from him? Is it because you are lonely? Is it because you are being pressured to introduce someone to your family? These are questions we need to ask ourselves. Without a defined reason to engage in something and a highlighted result from engaging in that thing, all efforts become futile. Watch how you give, what you give, and why you give.
