A Life On The Street

I have been privileged to see people who have no home and have made the street their home. Life on the street is quite different and can’t be compared with life at home. Most of you can quickly relate to life at home rather than life on the street. On the other hand, what you see people experience on the street can make you determine that you would never end your journey on the street.

So, I know that if you are asked to choose between living on the street and living in the house, you will reject living on the street because of so many obvious reasons. Even the kids of yesterday will not want to live on the street because they know how dangerous it could be to stay there 24/7. As adults that even know better than the children, living on the street is more deadly than one could ever imagine, so our priority is to guard and guide against everything that can make us end up on the street, right? Yes!

However, have you ever taken time to reflect on this important reality that living without Christ is like living on the street? You may not physically be living on the street, but the way people who live on the street are vulnerable to some dangers like assault, assassination, poor health, and nutrition, etc., is also the way you are more vulnerable to the devil’s torture, torment, blackmail, failure, sickness, retardation, poverty, and lots more because you have no covering.

Those who are inside of Christ get covered from impending danger and have the assurance of eternal rest and joy, which is not readily available for people who live outside Christ. The position you need to take when you see homeless people is not just to pity them, but yourself as an unbeliever who has decided to live a careless life. Sometimes the people on the street get some security, which means they are still better than you because the devil has no covering for you due to his mission in John 10:10.

Remember, a life without Christ is a life full of crisis.
